Workshops Organized by Yeshiva Services Division

Recently, close to 100 yeshiva staff attended a workshop organized by Agudath Israel at Prospect Park Bnos Leah High School regarding the new immunization reporting requirements mandated by the New York State Department of Health. Ms. Jane Tubridy, supervising public health advisor, NYC Bureau of Immunization’s Disease Control Unit presented clear and concise information to the attendees. She also provided a demonstration of the Citywide Immunization Registry (CIR) which school staff can use to provide much of the data they need to complete their surveys.  Ms. Betty Sanchez, school assessment supervisor, also provided important information to the workshop attendees.

This past Monday, January 12, more than 50 yeshiva principals and administrators attended another Agudath Israel-arranged workshop on the subject of E-Rate. This federal program, administered by the Federal Communications Corporation (FCC), provides discounts on telecommunications and internet service to schools and libraries across the country. Over the years, since this program’s inception, many yeshivos across the country received tremendous discounts on their local and long distance phone bills, among other things. This year, there are many significant changes in the focus of the program as well as in the application process. Mr. Win Himsworth, the New York State coordinator for the E-Rate program, made a presentation to the administrators and principals regarding these major changes. Mr. Himsworth has also agreed to host a webinar on this subject next week for those yeshiva administrators who were unable to attend the live workshop.

Next on the list of webinars for yeshivos is a security webinar, which is planned to be held in the next few weeks.
