Rewarding Nonpublic School Teachers in Harrisburg

On Wednedsay, the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg was the site for the annual celebration for the EITC – Education Improvement Tax Credit – program.

The rain clouds which formed a thick cover earlier in the day dispersed right as the rally was to begin, thus enabling the hundreds of guests to enjoy the event on the steps of the State Capitol building.

Coinciding with the EITC event was the annual PA CAPE (Pennsylvania state chapter of the Council for American Private Education) teacher awards luncheon. A distinguished group of educators from nonpublic schools across the Commonwealth were chosen by a panel of judges. Among the winners was Mrs. Cheryl Epstein of the Kosloff Torah Academy Girls High School in Philadelphia. Earlier on Wednesday, Rabbi Sadwin and his fellow PA CAPE committee members attended meetings with legislators and their staff requesting their continued support for increases to the EITC program’s funding.
