Ohio House Introduces Bill to Combat BDS

A bipartisan bill targeting the Boycott Divest and Sanction (BDS) movement was introduced in the Ohio House of Representatives late last week. House Bill 476, sponsored by Representative Kirk Schuring (R- Canton), represents Ohio’s efforts to stop the anti-Semitic BDS movement by making sure that Ohio does not do business with those participating in BDS. The representatives heard firsthand about the deleterious effect this movement has had on Israel. Many of the bill’s co-sponsors traveled to Israel this summer as part of trip organized by the Negev Foundation and Ohio Jewish Communities. Agudath Israel’s Ohio Director, Rabbi Yitz Frank, also joined the mission participants for part of their summer trip. Kudos to the representatives and to Ohio Jewish Communities for their efforts to combat BDS.

Agudath Israel will be aggressively supporting this important issue.
