Agudath Israel’s Director of Project LEARN Appointed to Government Agency

Agudath Israel is proud to announce Governor Cuomo’s appointment of Mrs. Leah Steinberg, dedicated director of Agudath Israel’s Project LEARN, to the DDAC (Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council). An official announcement of her appointment was made in Albany by the Governor’s Office last week during Agudath Israel’s Mission to Albany.

The DDAC serves in an advisory role to the Commissioner of OPWDD (Office For People With Developmental Disabilities) in all areas affecting service delivery, housing and education for individuals with lifelong developmental disabilities. The agency’s sub-committees report to the Council and the Council members decide together which issues need more study and adjustment to be truly effective for the people the agency serves.

Mrs. Steinberg accepted the appointment saying, “I look forward to helping our community, with our unique needs, receive optimum service from the DDAC.”
