Led by Rabbi Moshe Matz and other Jewish communal leaders from South Florida and Maury Litwak of OU Advocacy, the participants met with many legislators and explained to them the importance of the scholarship program to the Jewish community. The more than 45 attendees were honored to be addressed by the leaders of both the House and the Senate. The mission participants also had the opportunity to personally thank Governor Rick Scott and the legislators who have stood strong and steadfast in their support of choice options. In particular, the legislature has been moving quickly to expand the Personal Learning Savings Account program that provides significant relief to children with certain disabilities.

The event concluded with a very encouraging meeting with Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam and Florida C.F.O. Jeff Atwater. Both of them expressed how powerful it was to see the Jewish community engaged in supporting this vital cause and making the effort to travel to the Capitol to advocate on behalf of educational choice.

A special word of gratitude to Dr. Allan Jacob, President of the JLC for his tremendous dedication and effort in promoting the message of school choice in our community and in the legislature.
